Hey everyone, season 13 is here and riot has been hinting at the shadowy changes coming to the Rift for a while now, and it’s finally time to spill the beans on patch 5.1. This year, we’re diving deep into the lore of League of Legends, starting with the mysterious Shadow Isles. We will get immersed by the world of Runeterra from the get-go.
So, what’s new? Well, instead of just standalone stories, we’re weaving a continuous narrative throughout the patch, starting with the Ruination saga. This is a big moment in Runeterran history, explaining the origins of many champions. Get ready to learn more about the Blessed Isles and the fates of your favorite champs.
We’re rolling out this narrative in three acts, each tied to the release of a new champion. First up is Kalista, once a noble warrior, now the Spear of Vengeance. Then comes Viego, the Ruined King himself, followed by Maokai, the twisted treant.
But it’s not just new champs shaking things up. We’ve revamped the in-game atmosphere to reflect the Shadow Isles theme, and even the items are getting a makeover. You’ll now have radiant items for protection and utility, and shadow items for riskier but potentially rewarding plays.
On top of all that, we’re introducing a new game mode called Final Stand, where you’ll join Kalista in one of her legendary battles. Plus, there’ll be events to unlock stories about the champs involved, giving you a deeper look into their backgrounds.
And let’s not forget about gameplay updates. Miss Fortune, Riven, Jax, and Master Yi are all getting some tweaks to make them even more formidable on the Rift.
Ranked Season 13 is on the horizon, with a shiny new skin as a reward. And for those hungry for more challenges, there’s a new Wild Pass with extra rewards.
